Delete your account

You can delete your Compare The Build Yard account yourself, in the app, at any time. It takes effect straight away.

In the app

1. Open the Account tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
3. Tap Delete my account to confirm.

You are signed out, and an email confirms the deletion.

If you can’t open the app

Email privacy@comparethebuildyard.co.uk from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We delete it within two working days and confirm by email. We do not ask you for anything else, but we may reply first to check the request came from you.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: the App Store or Google Play runs it, and would keep charging you. Cancel it there first, under Subscriptions on your Apple account or Subscriptions on your Google account.

What is removed

Your email address, password, postcode, settings, sign-ins, any unused password-reset links, trade discounts, jobs and everything on them, savings, and our record of your subscription. Any request you made that we logged to improve the catalogue (a search that found nothing, a line on a list that matched no product) loses its link to you and to your jobs at the same moment; the text of the request and the first half of the postcode are kept without any link to you.

RevenueCat and the store keep their own record of a purchase; after deletion it is linked only to an account number that no longer exists with us. The privacy policy has the full picture.
