Terms

These terms cover this website and the Compare The Build Yard app. “We” means Compare The Build Yard Limited, trading as Compare The Build Yard.

This website

• You may use the site to learn about the app and to join the waitlist. Please don’t attempt to disrupt it or to submit automated sign-ups.
• The content is ours or used with permission. Merchant names belong to the merchants.
• We try to keep the site accurate, but it describes an app that is still being built. Features and the launch date may change.
• The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

The app

Subscription

• The app costs £14.99 a month, inc VAT, after a 14-day free trial. There is no free version: when the trial or subscription ends, comparisons stop until you subscribe again.
• The trial and the subscription are run by the App Store or Google Play. You subscribe, cancel and ask for refunds there, and Apple’s or Google’s terms apply to the payment. The subscription renews each month until you cancel it; cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in the store first.

Prices

• Merchant prices are shown ex VAT or inc VAT, as you choose. Trade buyers start on ex VAT and homeowners on inc VAT; you can switch in Account. Every list says which.
• Item prices exclude delivery. Each merchant row shows its delivery estimate, worked out from the merchant’s published delivery terms and your postcode. When you enter a quantity, merchants are ranked on the goods plus delivery. An estimate is not a quote: the merchant’s checkout decides the delivery charge.
• Prices are collected from merchants’ websites and may be out of date or wrong. Each price shows when it was last checked; a price that has not been checked recently is marked and never ranks as the cheapest.
• Always check the merchant’s site before buying. The merchant’s price at the time you order is the one you pay. We are not a party to your purchase.
• A saving shown in the app is the difference between the cheapest price and the next cheapest, at the time it was calculated.

Affiliate commission

We may earn a commission when you buy through a link in the app. It never affects the prices you see or the order they’re shown in.

Your account

• Keep your login to yourself.
• Discounts you enter are estimates you supply; the app marks any adjusted price as such. The price your merchant account gives you at checkout is the one you pay.
• You can delete your account in the app at any time. What that removes is set out in the privacy policy.

Product images and content

Product pictures come from merchants’ affiliate feeds where we have one, and otherwise from the merchant’s own product page. Each one is recorded with where it came from.

If you own an image or text shown here and want it removed, email hello@comparethebuildyard.co.uk — we remove it within one working day.
